Our Process

Every collection begins with a point of inspiration that is often rooted in our travels and memories of Portugal, the shifting moods of the season, or the irresistible charm of a particular fabric or print. Michelle lets these inspirations guide her as she begins sketching, playing with silhouettes, textures, and color palettes. This is where the story of the collection starts to take shape on paper, through lines and ideas that capture a feeling that is ready to be brought to life.

Once the moodboard is finalized and the direction of the collection, such as its silhouettes, fabrics, and color palette is set in place, our lead textile artist begins illustrating prints by hand. Each design is carefully sketched and refined, ensuring the artwork reflects the story we want to tell. These prints aren’t just decorative, but are an essential part of the collection’s identity.

We collaborate closely with our artisans to bring each initial design to life. The first set of garments for the collection, our samples, are entirely handmade, using the same thoughtful craftsmanship and high-quality materials as our final production. This is also the stage where final details come into play, whether it’s adding lace, embellishments, or refining trim and finishing touches. It’s where the design evolves from concept to something beautifully tangible.

We bring the collection to life by capturing it in motion, through thoughtful, intentional imagery. Every photoshoot is planned with care, from selecting a location that complements the mood of the collection to styling each look to reflect how it’s meant to be worn. It’s our way of telling the story visually, showing the beauty and movement behind every piece.

The collection is ready to go live and available for preorder both online and through our boutique partners. Each piece is handmade to order by the same artisans who created the original samples, ensuring consistency, care, and exceptional quality. Over the following weeks, every garment is finished with extra attention to detail before being carefully packed and shipped to our U.S. warehouse, ready to make its way to you.
